Welcome to The Diary Files
Everyone has a story to tell. No one looks out over the bridge of your nose, but you. What you see is yours alone…
The Diary Files collects vignettes from the everyday lives of the people of NSW and beyond. Tell us what you see, what you feel. Write about your morning coffee. Write about what you wish you said to her but never did.
You don’t need to be a writer to write here. We’re not after Sophocles or Virginia Woolf. You can write 20 words or write 300, submit anonymously or use your name. What did you have for breakfast, and what keeps you up at night? If you can read, you can write. Please write to us. Your words will become part of The Diary Files. Over to you.
The State Library of NSW
This website is an open platform for you to write a diary entry, of up to 300 words, on whatever subject you like.
You can submit more than one entry but please use the same email address so we can group the entries by author. It may take a little while to approve your entry but you will be given a link after your submission that you can use to check when it has been published. As with all DX Lab experiments we will continue to work on this website and develop it over time. Stay tuned for version 2.
* By submitting your diary entry in this platform you are allowing the State Library of NSW to collect, store and publish your text as part of this online experience, for exhibition and promotional purposes. Your entry may also be used by ABC Radio Sydney for on air and online promotion. Please note we have allowed social sharing on each entry.
